Why we built DealSurface

“It currently takes months to uncover the relevant information and build an approach for one solution at one carrier, let alone multiple products across the entire market. We built DealSurface to deliver that across the entire market at once: which carriers to approach, who to speak to, and what message to deliver.”
Ben Seitz-Sitek, co-founder

DealSurface was born inside insurance. John and Ben previously led Product and GTM at an insurtech that provided commercial underwriting data and casualty fraud tools to the top 50 P&C carriers, where they lived the long sales cycles and buying by committee, and saw how poorly other go-to-market tools served the industry. After more than 100 conversations with insurtech revenue leaders and early beta testing, they formally launched DealSurface in May 2026.

Frequently asked questions

More in pricing, the API and MCP docs and why teams choose DealSurface.

What does DealSurface do?

DealSurface builds ranked, product-specific sales pipelines for vendors selling into insurance: which companies to engage and why, the stakeholders relevant to your solution, and what message to deliver. Every recommendation is backed by evidence from authoritative sources.

Why do horizontal sales tools struggle in insurance?

They usually lump the whole industry into one "insurance" category, and their filters don't match how the market works: carriers, MGAs, agencies, brokers and reinsurers, each writing different lines of business in different state markets. DealSurface models that structure so you can find the right companies and the right people at them.

I already use Apollo, Clay, HubSpot or Instantly. Is DealSurface still a good fit?

Yes. DealSurface complements all of them: it tells you which insurance accounts need your product, who to reach and what to say, while those tools handle contact data, enrichment, CRM and sending.

Who is DealSurface not for?

Very large enterprises, B2C sales teams, and teams that are happy with their existing horizontal sales tools.

How long does it take to get started?

A few minutes. Tell us what your product does, share a link to your marketing materials and who you sell to, and you'll have a list ranked by proven need in under an hour, with outreach possible the same day.

How much does DealSurface cost?

Plans start at $10,000 per year and are priced by market size and number of products, not seats. Every plan includes API and MCP access plus credits for AI outreach drafting and premium data enrichment.

What data is DealSurface built on?

DealSurface draws on LinkedIn, statutory and regulatory filings, Department of Insurance documents, earnings calls, press releases, ratings agencies, trade publications, conference talks, web data, news and more, so every prospect comes with evidence you can check.

Which insurance companies does DealSurface cover?

Carriers are our deepest coverage today, with 6,600+ classified carriers, and we cover 1,400+ MGAs. Coverage of agencies, brokers and reinsurers is growing.

Does DealSurface have an API or MCP server?

Yes. Every plan includes a REST API and an MCP server, so AI agents such as Claude and ChatGPT can research prospects and buying committees directly.

What if my go-to-market problem isn't something the platform solves yet?
